I have another pose!

At the end of each session I ask the family if they can think of any other poses that they would like me to take.  Sometimes the parents suggest a pose but I hardly ever get a suggestion from the kids.  The kids response is usually, "Peace out, we are done, no more photos!" This was not the case at a recent Old Sacramento family portrait session with the Combs Family.

As I mentioned I try to always ask the family " Do you guys have any other poses you can think of that you want me to shoot?"  I was ready for a resounding "No!" from the children, but I was immediately met with a "I would like to do a pose with my hands crossed at the waist and me looking down" from their son Gabe.   Gabe's pose was a cool, introspective, quite, and thoughtful pose.  After we got that shot is when the kids really took over the session, and when I say "kids," I mean Lucy, the youngest.  Lucy was not shy about letting me know what poses she wanted and even posed her brother and sister for me. One pose she was in a tree with her brother and sister on each side of the tree.  I loved that the kids had so many great ideas and were able to bring a lot of creativity to the session.  I hope they had a great time, because I had a blast.  A couple times I was told by mom and dad that the kids will have me here all day doing different poses if we don't put an end to the session, and I honestly believe it.
